Explore Seattle, WA
Have you’ve signed up for our Washington Coast to Cascades tour? Lucky you! You’ll be exploring Washington’s diverse climates from the alpine meadows of Mt Rainier and Olympic National Parks, to the beautiful rugged coast of the Olympic Peninsula, and even a volcano, Mt St Helens! But it also means you will be flying in and out of Seatac, Seattle’s airport. If it works with your schedule, we highly recommend spending an extra day or two before or after your tour exploring Seattle!
Our pick up hotel is close to the airport which is on the outskirts of the City. Within walking distance is a light rail stop, so you can easily hop on a train and find yourself in downtown Seattle.
Here are some places we recommend. Many are even free!
Explore Pike Place Market
Strolling through this historic and iconic market is always entertaining! You’ll find local foods from farmers and fishermen, beautiful flowers, specialty foods, crafts, and even the strange and unique like the Gum Wall! Try some local Dungeness Crab or smoked salmon. Grab a coffee from the first Starbuck’s. Be sure to visit one of our favorite shops, The Truffle Cafe! Check out this handy map and guide for more information:
Walk The Waterfront
Walk the waterfront for more unique shops and eateries and views of Puget Sound. Stroll through the Olympic Sculpture Park and Centennial Park. If your budget allows, take in the Seattle Aquarium or hop on a Cruise of Puget Sound. Keep your eyes on the horizon as you just might spot Mount Rainier on a clear day or the Olympic Mountains across the Sound.
Museums and Attractions
Three iconic Seattle experiences are taking in the views from the Seattle Space Needle, exploring the inspiring and beautiful Chihuly Garden and Glass Museum, and the fun and exciting exhibits of the Museum of Pop Culture.
This is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to what Seattle has to offer. For even more suggestions of how to spend some time in Seattle, check out the Visit Seattle. If you think you might be taking in multiple attractions, consider the City Pass to save money!
