Q : What is AdventureBus and is it for me?
A : AB is a unique and affordable, down to earth way to travel to great places. Our converted AdventureBus’ comfortably sleep up to 20 people. If you like the outdoors, an easygoing atmosphere, relaxed travel schedules and interesting people, then AB is for you!

Q : Am I too old to ride AB/What is the average age?

A : Travelers in their 20's, 30's, 40's, and 50's are the majority but we have had fun folks as old as 69 on our trips. It's all about how young your heart is. We welcome everyone's diversity, knowledge and experience. Click here to read about folks who have been on our trips!

Q : What do we bring?

A : With your confirmation forms, you will receive a packing list and information on what to expect from the climate.

Q : When should I book my Adventure?

A : The sooner the better. Sometimes we reach our space limits months prior to departure. Always call us to check availability.

Q : Will I find my 'true love' on the AdventureBus?
A : We can only guarantee you a hug or a handshake from your drivers at the end of the trip, but perhaps, as many relationships have transpired upon our wonderful journeys.

Q : What's included in the price?

A : Transportation, all state and national park fees, 70% of your food,  a cozy bus bed, and lifelong memories (mountain bike trips include bonus cuts, bruises, and a sore bum). We recommend bringing an extra $20 a day for snacks, souvenirs, and extra activities.

Q : Do we have to sleep on the bus?

A : Only on night drives. On campout nights most people take the cushions off the bus beds and sleep out under the stars. There are also tents available for those afraid of creepy crawly things or other people.

Q : Do we sleep lying down?

A : Yes. AdventureBus is a redesigned full size coach that will accommodate and sleep up to 30 people lying down or 150 of those little circus clowns...300 if you stack em'.

Q : How many people are on the adventures?

A : Groups usually run between 12 and 20  people.

Q : Is there a bathroom on the bus?

A : There's no bathroom and no bathroom 'smell' on the bus. We utilize the campgrounds at which we stop, rest stops, and other facilities for smoke breaks and bathroom stops whenever the need arises.

Q : What about showers?

A : There's no shower on the bus and a shower cannot be guaranteed everyday. We utilize campgrounds and shower facilities along our adventure routes as often as necessary.

Q : Where do you depart from?
A :
Trips depart from Salt Lake City and Las Vegas. (Some spring and fall dates)

Q : I’m traveling alone/Is it a safe trip for single women?

A : Traveling in a group is perfect for the single female traveler. Because of how we travel, a quick bond is made and everyone looks out for each other.

Q : Can my kids come?

A : Kids are welcome on AB with the understanding that they will be exposed to different things onboard AdventureBus than they would experience at Disneyland or watching cartoons on Saturday mornings. Kids love the bus, but you know best what your children can handle. If they’ve had previous hiking and camping experience, they will love our adventures. Click here for photos of kids on our tours.

Q : Can I bring my dog?

A : Sorry, no pets. Many of the places we visit do not allow animals out on the trail.

Q : How physically fit do I have to be?

A : Our trips are as easy or hard as you to make them. If you want to hike, bike or swim all day, you will find others that will want to do the same. Just as easily, you can sit under a big tree, relax and read a book.

Q : Do I have to stay with the group?

A : When we arrive at our destination you're welcome to hang out with your new bus friends or take off on your own.

Q: How does the food work?

A : We prepare 70% of the food for you with our own camping equipment, and we love to have helpers! We do 1-2 meals out on the road, and 1-2 meals in the unique towns that we visit.

Q: The food/I'm a vegetarian?
A : The food is Excellent!  Vegetarians are easily accommodated, as well as vegans, lactose intolerants, and kosher, if we know ahead of time! We do pesto pastas, stir-fries and chillis, and usually have both meat and meatless options!

Q : Can I bring my toys?

A : We can carry mountain/road bikes, kayaks, wind surfers, surfboards, scuba equipment, mother in laws (must ride in baggage compartment and have own food/water dish) and three toed sloth's. In any case please let us know what you are bringing above and beyond the norm so we can allot the space.

Q: Alcohol on the AdventureBus?

A : Sometimes yes and sometimes no. We adhere to the guidelines set forth by the FHA and DOT in each area we travel through.

Q : Smoking on the AdventureBus

A : Smoking is not allowed on the AB. You may smoke anytime you are off the bus, (some national parks may have restrictions) but please be respectful of the nonsmokers around you!

Q : Can I rent a sleeping bag or a bike?

A : AB has both sleeping bags and bicycles for rent. We also rent private tents. Check the reservation form for pricing.

Q : Access to a phone/email?

A : There are usually phones available each day for those addicted to their messages and even an occasional Internet café in some of the towns we visit to get your e-fix.

Q : Spending money/ATM's & MAC’s?

A : $20 per day suggested for extra meals and the optional group activities i.e. rafting, horseback rides or a movie. ATMs are available at most locations, and most places accept credit cards and traveler’s checks.

Q : How long has AdventureBus been around?
A : Kyle Lapp founded AdventureBus in 1997. The goal was to create an affordable way for like-minded people from all over to get together, get outside, see the world and have fun with nature. You can find him on almost every AdventureBus trip.

Q: Do you have references I could contact?
A: Yes, we can put you in contact with several past AdventureBus participants. Just email us at info@adventurebus.com, and we will send you the contact information.
