A 7 day national parks adventure offered July and August. Features, camping,
hiking, swimming, tide pooling, waterfalls.
This trip is good for all physical levels/abilities.

Day 1

Departure City: Portland, OR

We pick you and your fellow adventures up in Portland, OR at 2PM and head for our first destination on the coast: South Beach State Park. Stroll along the beach, enjoy a cookout and campfire with the crashing waves in the background.

Day 2

Cape Perpetua and Oregon Dunes

Happy Fourth of July! Just a short drive down the coast we’ll find Cape Perpetua. We’ll have several hiking options there, through thick pine forests, down to the tide pools along the rocky coast, and to the Devil’s Churn. In the afternoon we’ll stop at the Oregon Sand Dunes. Later, celebrate the 4th in the quaint coastal town of Florence. Try out some local seafood at Mo’s. We’ll camp at Honeymoon State Park.

Day 3

Crater Lake National Park

We”l head towards Crater Lake in the morning through the scenic Umpqua National Forest. Hike along the Crater Rim in the afternoon before settling in to camp in the Park.

Day 4

Crater Lake and Cove Palisades

Weather conditions depending, we’ll take the scenic Rim Drive around the crater, making several stops at scenic overlooks. In the afternoon, will head to the high desert setting of Cove Palisades State Park. Hike to see some petroglyphs or take a dip in Lake Billy Chinook in the evening.

Day 5

Mt Hood

We’ll head to Timberline Lodge at the base of Mt Hood for incredibles vistas, fun trails, and a beautiful historic lodge. End the day at Mt Hood Village Campground where we can access even more hiking trails in the evening.

Day 6

Coumbia River Gorge

We’ll drive through the Columbia Gorge with a stop at Multnomah Falls. You can feel the mist from this beautiful waterfall. We’ll hike to other waterfalls such as Wahkeena and Weisendanger Falls as well. If time allows, we’ll experience some of the “Fruit Loop” scenic drive. We’ll camp another night at Mt Hood Village Campground.

Day 7

We’ll return to Portland by 10:30 AM.


Trip Details

Arrival & Departure

Departs and returns to Portland, OR. Our Departure Hotel: Super 8 Portland Airport, 11011 NE Holman, Portland, OR 97220 503-257-8988.

They have a free airport shuttle if you stay at the hotel, and free shuttle to the Public Train (The MAX) which takes you into Downtown Portland. There are 5-6 other hotels within walking distance as well as restaurants.

Transportation

This tour features our unique Adventure Bus sleeper coach.

Accommodations

This tour features tent camping and bus bunking. We’ll provide the tents and sleeping pads. You’ll need to rent or bring a sleeping bag. Contact us for helpful hints on accommodations and flights before and after your tour.

Weather

Warm to hot days and cool to chilly nights are typical in the on this tour. Rain can be expected.

Food

Our meals are geared to provide you with the fuel you need to get through your active days, and yet still extremely tasty. We can accommodate all dietary needs.

Hikes & Difficulty

The hikes featured on this tour very in length, technicality, and difficulty. There is something for everyone.
