Aug 22 North to Yellowstone
Our last trip of the season to Yellowstone and Grand Teton was a blast. The rain held off, and the parks were filled with wildlife and beautiful scenery. The geysers blew off steam, the bison caused a traffic jam, the hot springs soothed our aching muscles from all the hiking, and the skies were filled with stars. What a way to end our summer season!  Thanks!

Aug 15 Grand Canyon and the Wild West
Conquering Angel's Landing, hiking among Hoodoos at Bryce, touring the formations in Monument Valley, scampering on the slickrock in Arches, rafting the Colorado River, and exploring the backcountry via Unimog... this group did it all! Especially memorable this week were the multiple sing-alongs around the campfire!
Thanks for a memorable week!

Aug 10th Best Friends Grand Canyon Adventure
In August  we teamed up again with Greenearth Travel and took a group of folks to volunteer at Best Friends Animal Sanctuary and then on to Grand Canyon for 2 days of hiking and exploring. They cleaned pens, runs, washed windows, walked dogs, and pigs, had dog and cat sleepovers, whatever the sanctuary needed. Then some hiked the canyon or rim, became a Jr Ranger, survived a few thunderstorms, and were rewarded with a beautiful sunset from our camp along the rim. Thanks for a wonderful trip!

Great Glacier Adventure July 19-25
They call Glacier National Park the "Crown of the Continent" and we spent six fabulous days exploring  many of its beautiful alpine lakes, meadows and waterfalls. The wild flowers were spectacular and the wildlife plentiful. Still no grizzly sightings, but there is always next year!  Enjoy these highlight photos!

Our first hike was along the Trail of Cedars and along side of Avalanche Creek. This took us to Avalanche Lake.

Avalanche Lake is surrounded by mountain peaks and cascading waterfalls.

Some folks enjoyed a scenic boat ride on Lake MacDonald.

We also kayaked on Lake MacDonald while some rafted on the Flathead River.

Our tail up to Hidden Lake Overlook was clear of snow this summer (mostly) and the meadows were filled
with glacier lillies.

Blue skies, crystal clear streams, beautiful vistas, and good friends... What more could you ask for?

We saw 4 big horn sheep, and countless marmots and mountain goats on our way up to Hidden Lake Overlook.

The Highline Trail was absolutely breathtaking! Stunning vistas, every color of wildflower, and a scary narrow trail!

Bear grass, columbine, forget-me-nots, asters and lupine were just a few of the flowers we saw.

We hiked around Swiftcurrent Lake, Lake Josephine and headed up towards Grinnell Glacier to get a stunning view of Grinnell Lake. Mitsue, Dan and Barb even made it to Grinnell Glacier!

But we went hiking anyway!

Washington Coast to Cascades
July 11-18
What an incredible journey! Our newest tour brought us to Mt St Helens, Mt Rainier, and Olympic National Park in Washington State. The diversity of the landscapes and wildlife were terrific, and of course the company of all the returning guests, fabulous. Here are just a few highlight photos from this incredible tour, but in our opinion, they do not do the experience  justice!

Relaxing on the bus after long plane rides from all over the country and the world!

A first night campfire to relax, catch up with old friends and meet new ones.

At our first breakfast we had pancakes with fresh blackberry sauce from berries we picked the night before.

Mt St Helen's was fogged in, but the wildflowers
were stunning.

Our first group shot in front of Mt St Helens...... or so
the sign said!

We kept our eyes out for the legendary sasquatch, or big foot, but never seem to find him, although some guests reported an odd feeling like they were being watched!

Once again we were fogged in at Mount Rainier too, but the wildflowers still put on a show.

Snow and colder temperatures did not stop us from hiking!

Breakfast by the ocean!

The Hoh Rain Forest

We saw lots of star fish and anemones while tide pooling at Ruby and Rialto Beaches.

Ardell finds a special star fish.

The tastiest meal of the tour was Salmon Chowder made with locally caught and smoked salmon, Washington potatoes and Washington sweet onions. Yumm!

Some folks chipped in one morning and collected 3 garbage bags of trash along the beautiful beach at La Push.
